Facts
Sweet potato
Binh Tan in Vinh Long holds the largest purple sweet-potato area in Vietnam — around 13,000 hectares — and the crop won official access to China under a 2022 phytosanitary protocol. The deep purple colour comes from anthocyanins, the same antioxidant pigment found in blueberries and red cabbage.
